Microsoft has announced the new milestone for Windows 7. Since its launch in October 2009, 450 million licenses have been sold. It means Microsoft sold 650,000 licenses each day since windows 7 launched. According to news spreaded over internet “Windows 7 is the fastest selling version of Windows ever”.

If you compare windows 7 sales with previous versions of windows OS; 180 million Vista licenses sold just over a year and half after launch and Microsoft sold 210 million copies of XP in two and a half years since launch.

In Keynote opening at the Build developers conference, President of Microsoft’s Windows Division Steven Sinofsky updated us with some facts

• Sales of Windows 7 is approaching 450 million copies
• Windows 7 consumer usage is now greater than Windows XP
• 1,502 non-security product code changes have been delivered
• Internet Explorer 9 is “the fastest-growing Windows 7 browser
• 542 million people using Windows Live services every month
